Soon after you sign up: Someone will reach out to you by phone, text, or email to confirm your interest in running for County Committee. This person will be your assigned Assembly District Organizer, and will tell you all about upcoming events, helpful resources, and other tips and tricks to guide you every step of the way.
In the meantime: Make sure that you are a registered Democrat at your current address and identify your Assembly District.
May: All your neighbors who signed up for #RepYourBlock will be invited to a meeting in your Assembly District. Scheduled events will be posted here. Don’t see an information session in your area? We are hosting borough-wide meetings as well. Locations to be announced shortly.
South Brooklyn: Friday, May 18 (7:00 - 8:30 pm)
Central Brooklyn: Sunday, May 20 (2:00 - 3:30 pm)
North Brooklyn: Monday, May 21 (7:00 - 8:30 pm)
June 2 & 3: Pick up your petitioning packet with your local Assembly District team or at a designated neighborhood location.
June 4: Join us at our petitioning launch party. (And, if you haven’t yet, come pick up your petitioning packet!)
June 5: Start petitioning. You and your partners will gather signatures (between 30 and 60) from your neighbors. We'll give you all the tools you need to make this easy. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to learn about petitioning events in your area.
June 30 to July 4: Make sure all of your petitions have been turned in to #RepYourBlock. We’ll bind and submit them to the Board of Elections.
July 12: Brush off your shoulders. You did it!
September 13: Get out there and vote. It’s the New York Democratic Primary! If by some small chance you have a contested election, you'll run a mini-campaign on your block. But more likely you'll simply coast to victory unchallenged!
Late September: County Committee will meet and you'll be invited! After that, meetings will occur twice per year.
